I’m a tad late to the game this year, there’s only 2 days left in the campaign and team Navy is not where we need to be. You may have noticed a link in the sidebar under “Just Do It” for Soldiers Angels. It resides there permanently, year ’round, waiting for someone to feel the urge to help those who gave selflessly and came home physically less able than when they threw themselves into the fight. To put it simply:

Project Valour-IT helps provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and other technology to support Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries.

100% of your donation goes to the cause. No cuts for overhead, admin, salaries, leather couches, etc. – all of it goes to work.

The government can’t or won’t do something like this but you can. These warriors served for you without questions or hesitation – they went where they were needed. They all knew the pay scale, they certainly didn’t do it for the money. They knew the risk and thankfully were willing to accept it. Serving one’s country is a calling that pulls at your core if you are tuned to hear it. Sure you get to mess with cool gear and, for the priveleged few, you get paid to fly from a ship but that alone doesn’t account for the act of offering one’s self to the cause.

It’s bigger than that.
