On the 11th day of the 11th month of the year 1918 the Armistice was signed to end the World War. Sadly it was to be the first, not the only. Over the years and wars to follow, Armistice Day gradually shifted to include all Veterans, was renamed Veterans Day and, after a short stint in the 70’s where all holidays magically moved to Mondays, was put back in its proper place.
To all my brothers and sisters who heeded the call: it was truly an honor to serve with you. To those we followed: thank you for showing us the way. And to the kids that filled our boots: gratitude for shouldering the load.
