June 6th 1944

D-Day. Just the beginning of the Battle of Normandy, a costly fight by all estimates but the free world was on the line. The personal and national sacrifices made by all are the foundation of who we are today. Life could be so different if it were not for the determination of young men to take those beaches against all odds.

Here’s an interesting contrast of Normandy then and now. Thankfully the region still speaks French and we speak English unless prompted to press 1.
