Pic of the Day

by Steve on July 28, 2006

Sure it’s hot here at home but take a close look at this image. Hot sun beating down, steel deck radiating up, heat from the cats, and more from the jet exhaust. Add the protective flight deck clothing and you’ve got one heck of a weight-loss program. At first glance the image would appear to be out of focus. Nope, that’s the heat. Just like asphalt in summer.

Atlantic Ocean (July 25, 2006) – Flight deck personnel prepare for the next aircraft launch as an F/A-18 Hornet launches from the flight deck in the background aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Roosevelt is currently underway conducting exercises as part of the Fleet Response Plan. U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Randall Damm (RELEASED)
