Fellow former Viking aviator Byron King debunks the idea of tossing a nuke into the gulf. The short version is we never chased submarines capable of diving anywhere close to the depth of the Deepwater Horizon well head so the B-57 nuclear depth bomb, a weapon of last resort designed to neutralize a ballistic missile submarine, wasn’t designed to reach such depths either.
